It's official, my new favourite brand of coffee is Allpress. I was up at Formaggi Ocello again today and bought a take away latte. The flavour is very well developed with a robust edge to it but not bitter at all. It probably helps that they have a pretty impressive machine and the barista clearly knows what he is doing.
Whilst in there I was checking out their cheese range. I was thrilled to see they stock Fromage des Clarines which is a very special cheese indeed. It's presented in a wooden box and has the most divine flavour!
They stock the Binnorie Dairy range from the Hunter Valley. When we were last up there, I became obsessed with their labna (especially the chilli version). Formaggi Ocello has a very impressive range of cheeses including Roquefort.
I then went over to Thomas Dux and picked up a few things including figs and a Fuji fruit which are in season right now. I also bought some Meredith goats cheese (inspired after seeing an episode of Cheese Slices the other night when they visited the dairy) and some Zanetti Parmigiano Reggiano for a pasta dish I'm doing tonight. I noticed The Winery was packed again when I walked past. They've extended to have an outdoor area. It looked like a nice way to spend a sunny Sunday afternoon.
