I dropped into Formaggi Ocello today for a coffee but noticed the barista wasn't in the house so I decided not to get a coffee and walked out with a jar of Binnorie Dairy labna instead. I first discovered this delicious yoghurt cheese at the Binnorie Dairy shop in the Hunter Valley a number of years ago. It's absolutely divine!
I saw a sign promoting Aperitivo, held every weeknight from 5-7pm which offers complimentary appetizers with the purchase of a glass of wine. I must try and get out of work early enough to check it out sometime.
I then headed to Thomas Dux and as per usual, bought much more than I planned to. Goodness knows why I needed to buy a packet of Lurpak butter when I already have butter at home but these are the kind of things I do once I get caught up in the foodie haze.
Thomas Dux stocks Maggie Beers new range of soups, they look fantastic. If you get a chance, check out Maggie's website below. It is loaded with yummy recipes and lots of other interesting foodie news.

I picked up some steak from Hudson Meats for dinner on the way home.
When the butcher asked me if I would like my New York cut to be grain or grass fed I must admit I was a little stumped. I opted for the grain fed and I look forward to trying it tonight.
Next time I will go for the grass fed option to see which I like best.
I wonder if I did a blind testing whether I could tell the difference.....
