I was invited to a lunch with delicious magazine today at China Beach in Manly. This is the sister restaurant to China Doll. We all had the banquet menu and matching wines from Whole Bunch Wines.
The banquet started with a betel leaf with smoked trout, eggplant and nam jim, followed by kingfish and ocean trout sashimi with chilli dressing and sichuan spiced squid.
The mains were just as incredible and included prawns in a coconut based spicy sauce, wagyu beef in broth and stir-fried crispy pork belly with snake beans and basil.
For dessert we had sago pudding in vanilla coconut and passionfruit and a selection of ice creams and sorbets which included lemon, rhubarb and chai marsala.
China Beach is a fantastic restaurant. I can't wait to visit it's sister restaurant in Woolloomooloo.
