Ad Lib Bistro

We celebrated a friend's birthday last night at Ad Lib French bistro in Pymble.
The head chef of Ad Lib is Dietmar Sawyere who also heads up the Berowra Waters Inn and splits his time between the two.
I last ate at one of Dietmar's restaurants when I had lunch at Level 41 late last year before it closed in April this year.
Ad Lib has been a huge success since it opened earlier this year in Pymble. It has bookings placed at least a month in advance on Saturday nights.

I started with mushroom soup which was a special for the day. It had a beautifully rich mushroom flavour.
My main was also a special, a fillet of barramundi with green beans. The fish was cooked beautifully.
We shared a dessert of pear tarte tatin. The pastry was perfect with a divine pear filling.
 
The service is very welcoming and efficient at Ad Lib and the food is fantastic rustic French fare. I think the next Ad Lib in Double Bay will be just as big a success as this one.
